THE CONCEPT

Nonnaverse is more than just a dining concept; it’s a heartfelt tribute to grandmothers—our Nonnas—who have always been the cornerstone of family gatherings, bringing everyone together with their warmth, wisdom, and delicious home-cooked meals. Every month, Nonnaverse will feature a different Nonna from around the world, who will share her life stories, culinary secrets, and treasured recipes with our guests.

Empowering Women

Nonnaverse is dedicated to empowering grandmothers by providing them with an opportunity to showcase their culinary skills and earn an income. This initiative tells the world that Nonnas, even at their age, can still cook, work, and contribute meaningfully to society. By bringing these incredible women into our kitchen, we aim to highlight their strength, resilience, and invaluable wisdom.

Giving Back

In line with Passion F&B’s commitment to social responsibility, we pledge that all earnings from Nonnaverse will be donated to UAE-based charity. This initiative not only supports the grandmothers featured in our concept but also contributes to the broader community, making a positive impact through the power of shared meals and stories.

NONNA OF THE MONTH

Nonna Silvana

Silvana, born in Palermo in 1955, hails from a family of seven. As the youngest, she enjoyed a peaceful and happy childhood surrounded by familial affection. Her father’s passion for cooking became a source of inspiration, and she learned the secrets of culinary art from him. Silvana inherited her mother’s love for knitting and crochet. After obtaining an accountant diploma, she got married at 32 and became a widow after eleven years. Silvana dedicated her life to making her children happy, excelling in traditional Palermo dishes. One of her sons, Andrea, is now a chef. Silvana, now a proud grandmother, enjoys a beautiful relationship with her grandson Matteo, sharing stories and her love for cooking.

Silvana’s dishes respect Sicilian culinary traditions, each prepared with a journey into the past, showcasing the unique taste and aroma of the region’s typical products. She invites everyone to visit Palermo, promising to show the beauty of her city.
